Delete Your Account

Important Notice

Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. All your data, including consultation history, wallet balance, kundli charts, and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems.

What Gets Deleted

  • Your profile information (name, phone number, birth details)
  • All kundli charts and saved horoscopes
  • Consultation history and chat transcripts
  • Wallet balance and transaction history
  • Mantra practice data, streaks, and leaderboard rankings
  • Ratings and reviews you have given
  • All saved preferences and app settings
  • Push notification subscriptions

What Gets Retained

As required by Indian law and regulations, we retain the following for the specified periods:

  • Payment records — Retained for 7 years (as required by tax regulations)
  • Legal compliance data — Retained as required by applicable laws

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: From the App (Recommended)

  1. Open the Shastra app
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom tab)
  3. Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your phone number via OTP verification
  5. Tap "Permanently Delete My Account"

Option 2: Via Email

Send an email to support@shastra.app with the following details:

  • Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
  • Your registered phone number
  • Your registered name
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

Processing Timeline

24 hrs
Account deactivated
7 days
Grace period (can cancel)
30 days
All data permanently deleted

Wallet Refund

If you have remaining balance in your wallet at the time of account deletion, the amount will be refunded to your original payment method within 5-7 business days. Please ensure your bank/UPI details are up to date before requesting deletion.
