Welcome to Shastra. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Shastra mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Shastra ("we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Shastra is a Vedic astrology consultation platform that connects users with verified astrologers. Our Service includes:

• Real-time chat consultations with verified Vedic astrologers
• Kundli (birth chart) generation and analysis
• Daily, weekly, and monthly Rashi Bhavishya (horoscope predictions)
• Panchang (Hindu calendar) with tithi, nakshatra, yoga, and karana
• Kundli matching for marriage compatibility (Ashtakoot analysis)
• Curated mantras and japas for spiritual practice

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable age requirement.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account by providing your mobile phone number. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information provided is found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or fraudulent.

5. Payments & Wallet

Our Service uses a wallet-based payment system:

• Wallet Top-Up: You can add funds to your Shastra wallet using payment methods supported by Razorpay (UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking, etc.).
• Consultation Charges: Consultation fees are deducted from your wallet balance. Per-minute rates are displayed on each astrologer's profile before you begin a consultation.
• Currency: All transactions are in Indian Rupees (INR).
• GST: Applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be charged as per Indian tax regulations.

6. User Conduct

When using our Service, you agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or use inappropriate language with astrologers or other users
• Share obscene, offensive, or sexually explicit content during consultations
• Attempt to contact astrologers outside the platform or share personal contact information
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, and software, are the exclusive property of Shastra or its licensors and are protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or publicly display any content from the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Astrologer Relationship

Astrologers on Shastra are independent service providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Shastra. We verify astrologers' credentials and monitor quality, but we do not control or direct the specific advice or readings they provide. Shastra acts as a marketplace connecting users with astrologers.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Shastra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Shastra in the 3 months preceding the claim.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or quality of any astrological advice or readings provided by astrologers on the platform.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation of the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shastra, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• Any unused wallet balance may be refunded at our discretion, subject to our Refund Policy
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue legal remedies.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes through in-app notifications.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
